Gateshead and Whickham run a wide variety of swimming competitions throughout the year.
Our local development and graded galas aim to encourage swimmers and allow them to gain competition experience, while our prestigious Open Meet aims to provide high-class competition.
Our Open Meet has successfully taken place at the start of each year for over 20 years. Over that time, it has continued to grow in stature. It is now a major long course event and part of the competition schedule for many international swimmers.
