Training schedules for all squads UPDATED
Gateshead Council's 'Building a Better Future' programme of new pool builds and pool refurbishments continues in 2010. Below is a summary of the latest known schedule for the pools programme. 1. Birtley Closes September 5th September 5th, we lose all Birtley time .. there will be no like-for like compensatory time. By way of compensation, we gain an extra morning and an extra session on Saturday morning. 2. 4 Lane Blaydon Pool will close on 3rd October and re-open as 6 Lane Blaydon Leisure Centre on 4th October. 3. The provisional date for the closure of 6 lane Felling Pool is end of October with it re-opening as 4 lane Heworth Leisure Centre at the start of November. There will not be a gap between Felling closing and Heworth opening. Note that because Felling shrinks to 4 lanes, squads that trained together in the old pool, no longer fit together in the new pool. 4. The provisional date for Dunston re-opening is the start of January 5. The provisional date for Birtley re-opening is the end of March. CHANGE OF SWIM PROGRAMME SEPTEMBER 2010 to DECEMBER 2010 Unfortunately due to the number of changes that occur over the next 4 months it is not possible to display the training schedule on screen. Swimmers/Parents/Coaches will need to be diligent in reviewing available sessions almost on a week by week basis. For example dates for Felling closure and Heworh re-opening is not yet firm.
