REPORT: Richmond Dales Back to Pool

Back to the pool for Potential Squad

First gala of the season and our chance to try out some of the skills the swimmers have been working on over the last couple of months.

A good mix of events from 400 metres down to 50 metres.  Starting the morning off was the girls 400 freestyle and Evie Johnson swam her way to a personal best time. Next we had Oliver Quigley in the 200 IM event which would mean that he was to take part in the Skins event later in the day.  The morning was most successful for personal  best times in the 50 metres freestyle and breaststroke. My notable swim for Saturday was Jess Milburn in the 200 breaststroke for technical improvement.
Moving onto Sunday and it was the boys 400 freestyle event with all boys doing well and Oliver attaining a good best time.  Then again the 50 metres freestyle and breaststroke were good results and a notable swim by Erica Mould in the 100 butterfly due to technique and time improvement.
The younger swimmers also did really well even after a long weekend with some great time improvements…. Devrim Celikay in the 200 breaststroke, Hannah Paget in the 50 backstroke and Cole Reid and Ethan Storey in the 200 freestyle.
Congratulations to all of the swimmers and back to the pool to continue training for the Chester le Street gala at the end of October….
Sue Thorpe (proud coach)
