Junior Gala 26-28 October 2018
Starting with longer distances on the Friday evening and two very long competition days, this gala was quite an experience.
With the freezing pool water, over 30 of our younger swimmers competed. After trying to get comfortable on ‘primary school chairs’ the swimmers managed to collect quite the medal haul along with County qualifying times and personal best times abound.
There was a Skins event and Emma Lavery managed to qualify and came third overall on her first attempt!
Some of the swimmers were trying out new events and others were able to experience competing in finals for the 50m swims. Rosie Jackson had to have a ‘swim off’ for the 50m frontcrawl final, having to do a personal best to win a place.
Congratuations to all swimmers on their results and good luck for the next competition in December!!
See you in the pool!
